Assistant Vice Chancellor for
Strategic Campus Resource Initiatives

Brian Gregory serves under the general direction of the Vice Chancellor for Resource Management and Planning (RMP) as a member of the senior management team and the principal team strategist in support of new campus-wide initiatives. This includes facilitating communication, fostering positive relationships and pursuing initiatives with senior campus leaders, UC Office of the President, other UC campuses, and external entities and constituents such as private firms, community stakeholders and various local and State organizations and representatives. He also oversees two closely aligned areas in RMP: Physical/Environmental Planning and Community Planning.

Two strategic initiatives that Brian is currently engaged in are: (1) the University House project (advisory group chair) that seeks to rehabilitate, with funding through philanthropy, the Chancellor's residence and adjacent public venue space, and (2) the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project Working Group (UCSD representative) that is advising SANDAG's transportation committee on plans to bring light rail transit to the La Jolla campus and the North University City community.

Before joining UC San Diego in 1999 as the director of Capital Planning, Brian worked at Arizona State University, the Arizona Board of Regents central office, and the National Center for Education Statistics. He has a bachelor's degree in finance, master's degrees in business and education, and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies. He recently completed a healthcare executive leadership certificate program through UCSD Extended Studies and Public Programs.
